When will primetime not rely on flash?

Given all the noise out there over the last few years in regards to flash being dead, we still seem to be held over a barrel on the flash front when it comes to live streaming.

has any progress been made on the primetime side or video playback side on not using flash and what is the time line we can expect?

i see ustudio has a HTML5 streaming option however i do not know the scope of what this would support from an ingest perspective, i also know wowza was working on it using HLS.

any updates would be great.

Hi Ash!

HTML5 support is well underway and we are currently in internal beta for that. I will reach out to you to provide a detailed roll-out plan and as always would love to have you guys be part of our external beta group :-)

Just a note: I will be taking over the PM role for Primetime ! :-)

Looking forward to catching up!

One year has past. Can you update on Flash-less Primetime & support for iOS / Android?

so primetime HTML 5 is now available, ask your CSM for access if you dont have it. Support for IOS and Android has been around for some time now i believe.

Thank you for your help as always, Ash!

That is correct. BlueJeans certainly does support HTML5 playback with the Primetime events. We have a helpful article that has a lot more details regarding how it works and what is required.
I hope this helps!

It appears that while Primetime is support HTML5 through web browsers, it still doesn't support it through the App.  Is there an ETA to when this will be changed and we will not need to install Adobe Flash to support it?

Hello Ben,

Currently, we do not have an ETA as to when HTML5 support for the app will be in place, but it is something that we are working on. Stay tuned!
