VTC Transmit bandwidth and resolution question

First of all I'd like to thank bluejeans for finally letting room systems (SIP only...not H.323) receive higher resolution (1080p30) and higher bitrates to support it.

I still notice though that on the transmit side from VTC systems we still are stuck at 720p at 1.4 Mb/s.

Is there anybody at BJ who can talk about this? Will we get parity on the transmit side so our room systems capable of sending 1080p video can do so? Is that on the roadmap any time soon?

thanks!

DB, what VTC unit are you using? i had to override ithe bandwidth setting on the polycom and cisco units, i also had to disable the vtc auto bandwidth scaler so it did not conflict with BJN bandwidth scaling.

Regardless of what bandwidth you set your VTC at (I have mine at a default of 6Mb/s) BJ has it's own limits for H.323 and SIP.

We use CISCO. Dialing SIP allows 4Mb/s inbound at 1080p (but only 1.5Mb/s) outbound at 720p.

H.323 dialing still is throttled at 1.5Mb/s in each direction (720p)

interesting, Your CSM should be able to get you in touch with the infra team, to talk about why they still throttle your outbound even after enabling 1080p inbound. I will ask around too. we will be upgrading to this soon, once we have upgraded our bandwidth at all sites.
