View-only live stream option for extra large meetings

We hold a number of large monthly meetings in our company, that will often see 200-1,000+ people dial in via phone. The session involves 5-10 presenters only - all other participants are viewers only.

We recently live streamed one of these meetings, however, this requires an on-site production team and adds a great deal of complexity.

It would be great if BlueJeans offered a view-only live stream of the meeting, that could be embedded on relevant pages or shared as a link. This combined with a muted audio dial-in would be great.

I've seen the Large Meetings functionality, however, participant numbers and the requirement to install the BJ plug-in make this a little too difficult.

We're looking at live streaming the BJ meeting using screen-capture for an upcoming event.

Hi Ori,

Thanks for your post, and glad to hear that you have some larger meetings going on. We are indeed working on additional features to support larger meetings like the ones you describe. Keep a look out for updates on this front in the coming months!

We would also find this feature to be extremely useful, especially as Ori described it above, this is the same scenario for us a few times a year.

We'd really like that too, as we have lots of meetings/lectures where we'd like to stream without people being able to interact.

Hello George!
The "Like" button at the top of the page is how you "me too."
The number of likes seem to be corresponding to the number of me toos on the Ideas landing page.

Noticed after I couldn't find the "me too" button either.

Best regards,
Eduardo

Thanks @Eduardo is 100% correct @George. "Like" and "Me Too's" will add your vote on these ideas or conversations. You can always comment to shed more light on the reason too.

Thank you both for following. We will update this thread when we have more to share on these "live stream" options.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled
100 Member Capacity.

Hey Guys,
Quick question and let me know if there is already a thread on this. Some times my company has meetings with over 100 people. I was wondering if you were ever considering upping the number on the premium account past 100. Maybe plans to in the future or something of that nature?

Thanks for moving the topic! Our company would definitely benefit from this increased functionality. "Me too!"

Hi Brian,

Great to hear you are interested in meetings/events with over 100 people. We are definitely working on something to address this, and I will reach out soon regarding this extension to the BlueJeans service!

Is there an estimated timeframe that this feature is expected to become available? (in 2014? Or Q1 or Q2 of 2015?)

I, too, am looking for this sort of functionality.  I'd also like to be able to set up meetings which are default video mute for all & only include audio + screen sharing.  This is what we need for the vast majority of meetings in which we either have someone showing a powerpoint presentation or doing a demo in training sessions.  The vast majority of the time video is 1) a technical obstacle to getting the meeting started, 2) a distraction, and / or 3) something which keeps people from using the service because they are uncomfortable having their video sent.  In the latter case, many people don't want to just mute their video - believing that will make their reluctance to send video 'an issue.'

Whatever the arguments, video rarely adds anything to our use of remote conferencing.  The lack of this is causing groups to utilize WebEx & AT&T Connect vs your service - so hoping this is something you will support in the near future.  Given how long this thread has been around, it would be helpful if you can be specific about a timeframe when some or all of this will be in your product.

Thanks,

Woody Baker-Cohn

Hi Woody (and all others on this thread),

We recently launched Blue Jeans Primetime, which is our second product and addresses the use case brought up in this thread. Please reach out to your Blue Jeans Customer Success Manager or Account Executive for more details!

Best,

John

I really think what I'm looking for is a default 'video mute for all on entry' - similar to the 'mute all participants on entry' you have for audio.  Definitely not looking to pay for another product in order to get this.  Is this something which can be done now or added in the near future?  Thx, Woody

Hi Woody - I understand - you'd like 'video mute on entry' added to the main Blue Jeans service. It's great feedback and I'll talk to the team about it.

Best,

JB

I am looking for this exact feature as well. We often have small-ish (20 ppl) webinar-style presentations where we want to share the desktop but not have participant video. An option for the moderator to turn off the capability for video in a meeting, either by a moderator control for the individual meeting (preferred) or button on the interface, would be perfect. Thanks!
