Test call with normal return sound, not the parrot

When I make a test call I would really like to hear how my microphone sounds. The EQ modification that is done by the parrot returning my audio, while cute, really just detracts from the usefulness of the test call. I just want to hear echoed back the closest approximation I can get of what others are hearing when I speak on BlueJeans.

Sadly, I have to agree. As much as I love Jean, the novelty of it somewhat hinders the reliability of the test itself. Nothing will ever replace a test with a live person, but having Jean is handy.

I'd love to see a true loopback test. something like Gary has set up @ We have a system on the outside that loops video back through itself, but for having BlueJeans hosting something would be great.

We are getting increased requests for this also. one notable example is a colleague had a headset that seam to be out putting poor quality audio and Jean was not able to help in this scenario and the assumption was that it was a poor quality connection / blue jeans call.

This would be a great idea, but I'm guessing there would need to be some kind of time delay. If it played back your audio in real time, then it would cause echo/feedback. I guess it would need to be setup like the Skype audio test ("After the tone", talk, wait, hear back the audio)

Thanks for the good feedback on the Parrot audio loop-back. Will raise this with our product team for consideration on changing the experience.  Mike Kerr

There's already a delay with the parrot so I don't think anything needs to change in that regard.

Did anything happen about this?

My users struggle to take the product seriously due to the parrot.

Hello Kevin,

Thank you for the feedback. We currently utilize Jean the Parrot to test that an endpoint is sending audio into the system.

For a more clear understanding of how your audio sounds, you can always join our live demo room. This room allows users to connect with a live agent 24 hours a day. The join details for the demo room are:

but seriously... how hard is it to just make the parrot not talk sped up?

Also, I don't want to take a live agent's word for it... when I'm tuning my DSPs here at work, I want to hear what it sounds like... when I build a conference room, I make 5-10 Jean calls in an hour while fiddling with the DSP. At this point we just do it to see what volume it's at... then we have to fire up Skype for Business to ACTUALLY hear how it sounds.
Our product experts are basically begging us to give up Skype for Business and go 100% BlueJeans, but without that functionality, we're not ready to give it up.
