Interesting...we had one person mentioned an issue with PowerPoint. We tested and did not see the issue with Office 2010.

Karen, pile

I just tested it and was not able to reproduce the issue. I have a macbook 15, with Yosemite 10.10.2, and had no issues with powerpoint 2011 in presentation mode. Pile, would you mind opening a support case so someone can get back to you on that ? Just send a quick message to support@bluejeans.com and we will get back to you in no time.

Thank you!

I have a similar problem. The slides will freeze or Bluejeans freezes with using presentation mode in Powerpoint. The person sharing screen is using Window 7, Powerpoint 2013. I am viewing with a Mac OS 10.9.5.

The reason this is occurring is because Microsoft changed the way presentation mode works in PowerPoint 2013. Note that this only happens when you have an external monitor or projector attached to your computer. (you will not be able to replicate the issue with only one screen) In PowerPoint 2010, the presentation simply opens full screen on all monitors (if you are in duplicate mode). In PowerPoint 2013, the default behavior is to change from duplicate mode to Extended mode, which puts the presentation on the secondary screen and puts "Presenter View" on your main screen. This allows you to see a preview of the next slide, speaker notes, etc on your laptop screen and the main slides on the secondary projector/external display. This same behavior happens on all versions of PowerPoint for Mac. My guess is BlueJeans is having issues with the screen share when the display configuration goes between "Duplicate" and "Extended". A workaround would be to uncheck the "Use Presenter View" option within the Slide Show tab in PowerPoint.

Hello Everyone,

Thank you everyone for providing such great insight in to this issue.

Our team is aware of some situations that impact the quality of the content share while using PowerPoint.  This is often caused by resource conflicts caused by PowerPoint and relatively new Application Specific Sharing.

Our testing as confirmed that it is recommended that the presenter select “Share Entire Screen” when using PowerPoint in ‘Presentation View’.  This will prevent PowerPoint from improperly displaying on the Dual Monitor system.

There is also an option to manually configure PowerPoint to display in a “Window”, instead of taking up the entire screen.  This will allow the presenter to share only the PowerPoint application, instead of entire screen.  The following knowledge base article provides the steps needed to make this change both on a PC and Mac.

·         Sharing MS PowerPoint

I hope that this information is helpful and have a great day!
