Service Advisory

Recently, major browser vendors have either ended support for their plugins or announced they will be ending plugin support in the near future. As industry leaders move away from plugin technology, we’re taking this opportunity to upgrade your video communications to the BlueJeans App. The App delivers the ultimate BlueJeans experience with sharper video, clearer sound, and smoother screen sharing.

Starting in September, your users will have two great ways to use BlueJeans from the desktop:

  • BlueJeans App. The ultimate video communications experience. (Recommended)

  • Google Chrome. Great for fast, easy-to-join meetings with people new to video.

What does this mean for you and your users?

  • Enhanced user experience. Because the BlueJeans App delivers a higher quality audio and video experience, your support department should expect fewer requests, higher satisfaction ratings, and faster adoption.

  • Easier to deploy. Users can install the BlueJeans App on their own. Windows administrators also have the option to push the BlueJeans application as an MSI.

  • Tighter security. With all users on a secure application, IT prevents problems caused by weaknesses in browser security.

We recommend downloading the BlueJeans App today and using it for all of your video communications moving forward. Beginning in mid-August, if you access a BlueJeans meeting using Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari, you will be prompted to install the BlueJeans App. Starting in September, you will be unable to join from those browsers without the App.

We’ve posted our responses to the most frequently asked questions here. If you have any questions, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager or support@bluejeans.com. BlueJeans is committed to delivering end-to-end video experiences that people love and we look forward to any questions or comments you may have.
