Any idea when the one touch phone URL will be in the calendar entry, and not just the meeting email? Most people don't look for meeting info in the email. I need one touch dial URL if I am driving. Thanks

Thanks George! We are working to improve the join flow from mobile as we speak. We have submitted this to our product team to consider for the join flow from mobile calendaring. #staytuned and we will update you here.

Anyone else have the same request?

I am searching "PSTN dial sequence url" and found this post which was 2 years ago.  To my understanding, this is as easy as modifying a standard invitation template.  Why would it takes 2 years but yet ready?

e.g.: <tel:+1.408.740.7256,,Meeting_ID#pin#>

Hi Joseph.  This functionality is there but depending on your mail client it may not pick up tel:.  For example Outlook on iPhone doesn't register that there's a tel link even though gmail does.  Can I ask what mail/calendar client you're using?

Hi Luke,

Sorry for the very late reply.  I suppose the mail client you talked about was the mobile mail client, right?  We have all different mail/calendar client - apple native, samsung native, sony native, outlook for iphone/android, TouchDown, etc.

When you mentioned "pick up", I am guessing you referred to the bluejeans app picking up the native mobile calendar and launch calls from bluejeans app ONLY?  Yes, I can educate users to look at the bluejeans app and use the app to login the PSTN dial-in.  But this is not as simple as providing a simple link (as mentioned above where I learnt from other dial-in providers) to have a one touch click through process.

I am not taking about the BlueJeans app actually. Precisely because users have different clients for mail/calendar as you said, we can not reliably provide users with a link. Tel:1234567890,,## is the base case but that doesn't work reliably across platforms.

For example, on iOS, the default mail.app will have the link you want in the email. However calendar.app will not show HTML links so won't have the direct dial link in its notes. Android is even more unpredictable as different vendors can have different dial string formats so there isn't an easy way for us to predict what device the user will be on and adapt. This means that, as far as calendar invites go, we are at the mercy of whichever mail/calendar app client reads our emails/ics files.

Unfortunately in the short term there isn't a much better answer and we want to avoid having a list of 5 different dial strings with instructions for the user to tap on one of them depending on their device (which also might fail). We wil continue to test new ideas until we find something reliable but I hope you appreciate that it's not a simple template change.

Hi Luke,

A similar plug-in from Arkadin audio conferencing just show case what I mentioned and the one touch dialing inside the calendar just works on both iOS and Android.  Not sure if you will have a chance to look at.  Not that complicated really.

Hi Joseph, thanks for the reference.  We'll try to get a copy to take a look.  When you say "plugin", I assume you mean it's a plugin to Outlook? Also, if you have the info handy, what does the dial string look like on the iOS/Android side?

Luke,

Is there a way I can save the calendar invite as the attachment here so you can play with it from any mobile?

Hi Joseph, when you reply there is a camera icon where you can upload images in the post.

I think this would be useful as well. I understand that the all calendar apps interpret phone numbers differently but if you add Android/Google Calendar and iOS functionality you would cover a vast majority of the users.

Maybe you could add it as an option to have phone numbers formated for iOS and/or Android on an enterprise or user level. That way everyone could at least have a choice if they want the functionality or not
