No audio when webcam is plugged in. Any ideas?

When I plug my microsoft lifecam I lose audio.  However, if I remove the webcam and have audio.  For some reason I can't hear anyone speaking when I have a video feed.  Any ideas?

We use LifeCam webcams everywhere here and I haven't had a single report of an issue like this. The LifeCam isn't suppose to show as an audio output device so that's highly unusual that it's changing that. I try to avoid install the additional LifeCam software with them though. When you plug-in the camera the first time Windows will automatically install the drivers, but then prompt you to install the additional software, I cancel out of that. Is that additional software coming up when the camera come on? Can you totally quit out of it or uninstall just the LifeCam software and leave the drivers?

Yes there was additional software installed.  I removed the additional software, rebooted the laptop and once the laptop was rebooted, I reconnected the LifeCam without any additional software being installed.  Just using the Windows drivers, with the same result.

What do the device settings say in the BJN browser for the selected speaker device?

Not a stupid question...there are no stupid questions. Check out this training video and at about 3 mins 10 secs in it talks about settings, looks like a small gear in the lower-right of the interface. If this doesn't help I suggest contacting Blue Jeans support.
