Join Tones and editing names

My organization often uses Blue Jeans for the audio portion of online trainings. I'd like to have the software give me an alert tone when someone new joins the call. Is that possible?

I'd also like to edit the phone numbers in the software to reflect their names so I know who is speaking. These are external participants who do not have Blue Jeans software of logins.

Hello Samara,

There has been at least one thread that already suggested what you want with being able to edit the phone entry in the participants panel in the app with their name instead of just the number. Not sure where that is at in terms of the feature request chain. Perhaps a rep can reply to that.

As for the join tone, I thought it did by default send tone, but I tested it with my meeting and when I joined with a phone I got nothing. I went into my meeting settings and the option "Silent Participant Entry Mode" is unchecked, which based on the description text below it suggests I should be hearing them by default upon entry and exit. Maybe that's a bug right now?

Wish I had better answers.

As Craig mentioned, the ability for Moderator to change phone number to name in the Participant roster is a feature request that has been submitted to our Product team (no eta). The best way to do this today is for the telephone participant to use the BlueJeans mobile app (iOS or Android). They will have better audio quality, and, will appear by name. To enable or disable entry/exit tone, see this KB article: https://support.bluejeans.com/knowledge/entry-and-exit-notification. You have options to enable the tone with or without a banner popup, and vice-versa.

Hi Mike, both options were not checked which means the setting was correct but the expected outcome did not happen.

Thank you for the information. I see your recent meetings contains all room systems endpoints. Were you connected via pairing code method or direct dial method? Are you able to hear the exit/entry tone when you connect from bluejeans app/browser?

When I connected on dial-in or bluejeans app, I did not hear the entry/exit tone.
