Join a meeting via desktop app and not via browser as default

Hello,

after bluejeans meetings are only accessible via desktop app, is there any possibility to join meetings via the app as default after clicking on a bluejeans invitation link?

Always when I want to join and click the invitation link, my browser is opening and not the app. I always have to open the app and copy the meeting ID.

Best,

Soeren

Soeren,

Can you tell which browser version and platform you use?

Becoz in my experience, my browser (chrome 64bit) has to open due to the link clicked but immediately the app will launch. This default behaviour can be set in your app settings.

Soeren,

How about changing your blue jeans's Group settings (ADMIN Tab -> Group Settings menu -> Default Connection Option) to "Blue Jeans App"?

When we set that, Blue Jeans App are launched after opening our browser from invitation's link.

I do not see Group settings when I log in to BlueJeans. And I see no settings at all when i open the BlueJeans app. Is there someplace else I should be looking?

Hello Judi,

To be able to see the Group Settings you will need to be an admin on your BlueJeans account. Once you have admin access, you will have access to the Admin panel where the group settings are.

If you do not see this, you will need to be granted admin access.

Lee

Hi, thank you all for your help.
I found the problem why it was not working properly.
We have some clients with the older version 1.15.49 and with this version it is not working properly. When I use a newer version (1.16 and higher) and I open an invitation link, then my browser asks me to open the bluejeans app.

I am using the latest version and links are not opening the app (it used to). How do I control this? This should be a user level preference.

Sorry, I think we are confusing 2 issues, so let me refocus. Clicking a BJNS link in the body of a Google calendar invite does not open the app, it just opens in my browser. That's the problem I'm concerned with.

Thank you for the clarification, James. This is currently a limitation with our join flow. We are working on improving this in future releases.

Thank you for providing your feedback!

OK, thanks. Was there a change made? This used to work.

Hello James,

I am not sure if there was a recent change to the join flow but I have been informed by the dev team this will be implemented in a future release.

I was able to revert back to using the app by going into the settings of a meeting.  Once I joined a meeting, I clicked on the Settings icon, clicked on More Connection Options, and chose the BlueJeans App, and click on the green button to "Use the App."  I have Version 1.35.15 installed.
