Our company Google Calendar has just switched to the new UI, and we found that our Safari user is no longer see the schedule BJN meeting button anymore. We know that there is a new extension for Chrome, but we cant find any related to Safari. Is there a solution on this?

Hi Toh,

Thank you for posting the question.

Upon discussion with dev team, it is understood that the current Safari extension is not supported on new UI of google calendar. Also at present there is no plan to build a new safari extension for same. As a workaround you can switch to old Gcal UI on safari and use the extension. The steps are given below:

Go to calendar->Click on gear icon.(Settings)

In the drop down, select "Back to Classic calendar"

I hope this is helpful!

Thank you,

What an awful reply this is from Bluejeans!  Bluejeans needs to create an extension for the new Google Calendar UI on Safari, or I know that our company for one, will be forced to find another conferencing tool.   There are many out there to choose from!  Google Calendar will not keep the Classic UI available forever.  This is must!

Given that the the old calendar UI has now been fully deprecated and using the old Safari extension is no longer an option, I would like to see the BlueJeans team re-evaluate their decision regarding the extension. Safari users should have an option to schedule BlueJeans meeting via their preferred browser.

Typical DevOps, they think they know what people use and want. If you are a true Chrome and Apple Dev Partner, get out in from of the releases and support what the market bares knowing that version changes and UI updates are going to invalidate use.  That way customers don't have to complain and be made to feel the request os some how not relevant, unimportant to BJN DevOps, or worse perceived as a "dumb" request.
