Integrate Google Apps calendaring

We would use the Blue Jeans scheduler if it was integrated with Google Apps. Specifically, it would be great if your interface could read and write to Google calendars so that a person's Blue Jeans meetings page showed their scheduled meetings, free time and available resources.

If you all at Blue Jeans use Google Apps as your calendar, how do you schedule your meetings? Would love to know!

Zack thank you for sharing this idea. A few answers:

  • Google Calendars IntegrationThat is a great idea and will share this with the product team to see how feasible it is to tie into the calendar itself and see available resources, free time etc. Currently, through the Safari and Chrome Extensions a user can schedule Blue Jeans meetings right from your Chrome/Safari browser window or within Google Calendar.

  • Most users who use Google Calendar @ Blue Jeans use the Extensions to drag in their Blue Jeans meetings. We are looking at adding more robust functionality to the extensions in the coming quarters since it seems to be a great shortcut for many of our users.
Stay tuned for word back from our product team!

Thanks Zack!

The Chrome extension with Google Apps works great. If you install it, you can configure the default invitation text by clicking "Options" after you have selected the Blue Jeans extension under chrome://extensions/

Tom,

I didn't realize the Chrome extension's invitation text was configurable. Thank you for bringing that to my attention.

I regularly try Chrome but find Firefox to be superior; it's better at printing, has tab groups and separate URL and search boxes, is less intrusive, offers Google-independent profile management... I agree with others, a browser-independent Google Calendar App would be preferable to a Chrome-specific extension.

Any updates on the FireFox extension allowing me to schedule BlueJeans events from within Google Cal?
@Situmam - no FF extension, do you just mean browser? From Google Cal you still have to paste your meeting ID in there manually.

Hi Agnès,

You can switch your preferred language in your account settings. See https://support.bluejeans.com/knowledge/language-localization for instructions.
