We have just switched from IE to the Chrome following BlueJeans recent recommandations and we are some sort of disappointed :
1. Bandwidth, the IE plug-in allows for uncapped HD bandwidth so we consistently reach 5mbps up and 5mbps down. On Chrome, it seems to be capped at 1.5mbps which has an adverse effect on image quality.
2. IE plug-in allows the presenter to screen-share while seeing guests in a floating frame, which could be enlarged to fullscreen (on a second display for instance). On Chrome: as soon as the presenter activates screenshare mode, the video of our guests disappear.
We have tested the Blue Jeans app also. Although the Blue Jeans App solves all the above issues, it does not allow to strip the joining experience to the bare minimum as we could do with browsers, by preloading meeting ID/pin/username with the below syntax :
chrome.exe" --kiosk "https://bluejeans.com/123456789/1234/browser?name=guestname
This opens a fullscreen Chrome, with the meeting ID 123456789, specifying "through browser", and with name = guestname
We are used to publishing a link to all user desktops by GPO this way, providing them with a one-click experience.
Any equivalence with the Blue Jeans app ? Command line options ?
