Grant/Request Control

  • Under Consideration

I am interested in granting and requesting control for shared sessions.  I thought there was a thread already open on this, but I could not find it.  In Lync for example you can request control of a shared screen and drive the presenters mouse and keyboard.

I think a common term for this ability is "Token Passing".  I have been interested in this for several months now...

Hi J and Jeremy,

We have the request into our Product Dev team for supporting this feature.  I have added both of you to that case request.  We should have an update soon on the timing for supporting this feature.

Philip - this is very important to our group.  We use BlueJeans to review code with off shore developers and need the ability to control their keyboard and mouse.  Please contact me to discuss.
Hi John - thanks for letting us know. I will have Philip add you to the feature request and provide an update. Thanks and welcome to the Community!

I know this is a new thread, but i need to post in here as i am very interested in this as well. I figure this is the best way to get updated on the situation! That would definitely be a fantastic addition to functionality, and i know it would impress our users.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled
screen sharing.

Hi, is it on the horizon to be able to annotate on someone else's screen when doing a screen share?  We often have people who like to "pass the pen" around and allow someone else on the other end to mark up a power point or a document.  Thanks!

@Heather - We merged your post with this so we can track this feature in one thread. We will check back in if this is considered. We understand this is needed for some tech support use cases and collaboration on documents. Some other web tools have these and 20+ other features that in the long run confuse the user and are hardly ever used. We will access the demand and match it up with our roadmap. Stay tuned on here for updates.

Please add me to the list of users requesting this feature. It’s a make or break one for me.
Hi Marcus - thanks for letting us know. I will add you to our tracking doc here.

Very Interested in this feature as if it is not available some of my customers will insist on that other products.  It would be great if we could pass control back and forth for collaboration.

Would like this functionality as well.  We have to use a competing product in the meantime.

Hi Eric, Bertrand, and all ... Remote Desktop Control is being tested, internally, by a group of users inside Blue Jeans. Testing so far looks good. In example below, Mike would like to take control of Bob's computer.

Should be available for limited release testing soon

Thank you so much Philip.

What would you say the approximate delay should be for implementing that functionality in our offices. Keep up the good work!

We just acquired this application and the first thing we've noticed missing, from the end-users perspective, is the absence of the keyboard and mouse request control. Is the testing complete and awaiting a roll-out? We are very exited about this product and this functionality will make this product usable.

Thanks in advance.

What's the update on this? Our company move to BlueJeans and we lost the ability to have someone control our screen. This is an important feature for us as well.

Is the trial something we can roll out to a handful of select users, or is it for the entire Enterprise account?

Remote Desktop Control is now live. Was added to production this weekend (unless your group was asked to be excluded). Click here for the article on how it works.

Let us know if you have any questions or feedback.

I was using this feature today, and found that Key bindings in the app get in the way.  Trying to type in a terminal on the remote desktop I found that several keys were not being allowed through.

I couldn't see how to turn this off.

Hi Michael,

Are you referring to keys like v, m, space which have app bindings to do certain actions like video mute, audio mute?

Thank you for the information Michael, May I know the version of Bluejeans app you are using? With version 1.24 and above bluejeans key bindings in the app should not get in the way during remote desktop control.

1.26.74 on OS X 10.12.4. The remote was running the latest on and older version on OS X.

Just tried sharing between the two computers I have on my desk, and I'm able to use all the keys I expect to.

I may have an older version originally.

thanks
