Delegated controls / additional moderators

  • Under Consideration
We have received a request to offer additional pins for moderators or allow delegation.

i.e. in large meetings it would be prudent to have multiple moderators - one to control mutes / Questions etc and the other to start the call and presentation etc.

also in the event that the moderator cannot make it but the call still needs a moderator and not moderatorless.

at the very least can we allow moderatorless calls to make all participants a "moderator" to allow anyone to mute all etc, then when a moderator joins all the privileges go back to the moderator.

Delegation would also be good for executive admins scheduling calls for executives etc,

another option is to allow different pins for different scheduled meetings so a "one time pin" could be handed to another person.

thanks

Hi Ash,

I was able to take this to our PM's weekly discussion and I have submitted a new feature request for your suggestion.  I have it posted to our internal tracking boards so our community team will receive updates on supporting this feature.

Stayed Tuned and Thank you for the suggestion.

Hi, Philip. I'm interested in this also. We have weekly staff meetings and I need an additional moderator in case I cannot attend. Also could use the help with muting/unmuting participants per the OP. Thanks.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Meetings with two moderators (secretary and her boss model).

Dear BlueJeans team,
is it possible to have multiple moderators in one meeting? We are struggling with the situation when our executive assistant has to create meeting on behalf of her boss. The PIN link is generated only to her appointment - but in case she is creating meeting in the boss's calendar, then the link with PIN doesn't appear anywhere.

What would help us is to set two moderators in the meeting.
Or do you have any other workaround? (Except asking the boss to login to BlueJeans Outlook plugin on Executive Assistant's computer)

Thank you in advance

Greetings All,

Delegate scheduling support now slated for support in the Q3 timeframe. We will update the community on any changes.

You can have multiple moderators in one call but today you would need to send or give the moderator ID to that user before they join the BlueJeans call.

Hi Max, I have reached out to my colleague who manages the IC group to get more details and will follow up with you offline to close the loop. Thanks for the interest!

I also would like to test this feature out, it would greatly help our office admins to schedule for the principles. Please add me to the list!

Nihal Mirashi, did the feature make 19/12? I don't think I've seen new features in my BJ sessions?

Is there a status update on this? I am looking for this feature, but can't seem to find anything in the current UI?

Hi Martien,

We do offer Delegate scheduling, if that helps. See https://support.bluejeans.com/knowledge/delegate-scheduling

Multiple moderators are allowed to come into any meeting, sharing the duties with one another. We do not have ability to set up a one-time moderator code for one meeting. You would need to subsequently change the moderator code, after the meeting, if needed for security purposes.

Another option, if you have Command Center Pro, is to moderate the meeting from the "Live Meeting Control" section in command center. You would not have to log into the meeting - controls can be handled from Command Center. See https://support.bluejeans.com/knowledge/live-meeting-control

Hope this helps,

Mike

Thanks, BlueJeans team, for focusing on that feature and also for your quick feedback (and interim solution).

Best Regards,

The issue with Delegated Scheduling is that it is limited to user within the Enterprise, and meetings are not just with people within our enterprise. One of the most basic functions for many many collaborative platforms is the ability to promote a person right within the meeting to be a moderator, and it baffles me why this isn't a feature yet.

Thank you for adding that scenario, Craig. Will make sure the product team understands your request. For now, moderator would have to deliver his moderator code to the guest via the one-on-one chat window - and ask guest to log out and back in as moderator (and, take the extra step to look up the moderator code from his account, as he probably doesn't know it).
