China connectivity issues?

I'm about to host a web conference based in the US with mostly participants from China. I will be using audio/video on my end, but they will stay anonymous and ask their questions via chat. Do you have any suggestions in how far the Chinese firewall will be a problem or if there will likely be any connection issues? Should I warn my participants of anything in advance? Thanks

We have a number of calls with our China associates and customers over Blue Jeans, for the most part they go well, however i understand there are some congestion issues during EMEA / Americas peak hours from China to those regions.

We are currently working with Blue Jeans to consistently improve the quality of calls in China and ensure that all our traffic is going through the singapore POP at least ( they were going through the San Jose POP ) which i believe was caused by our own Proxy / vpn setups.

On a Similar Note - Have you noticed problems in Dubai or UAE - I have a session with Students in UAE and the Service Provider has blocked H.323 traffic in their home broadband connections.

Can u pl confirm whether BJ uses H.323 and that it will not get blocked.

Is there a way to do a demo with somebody from your team or partner in Dubai or UAE and test and confirm this

we run H323 from our office in Dubai, however this is mostly over our Ipsec VPN to bypass any ISP issues. Browser access should work as far as i am aware as it does not use H323 from the browser.

Greg,

Try connecting bluejeans meeting over chrome browser ( plugin-less) /with proxy/wired/WiFi network; check all these possibilities.

great Greg, sorry for my delay in response, at present we have no real advice on stability in China given that it is hit and miss, i am glad it work this time ( which it does more often than not ) we have a very high satisfaction rate of users in China. that being said we are working on our in house network connectivity in China to aid in the general issue of connecting to cloud based tools
