Can I install Bluejeans Desktop App 2.0 without removing the old one so I can switch app when I have to?

I wanted to try the new features with the Desktop App 2.0 but there are features I still want to use with the older version like the facebook integration and remote desktop control to name a few.

So if this is possible without any conflict between the app, I can use the new enhanced features of the desktop app 2.0 on meetings where I don't need to use some of the old version features. But whenever I want to use the Remote Desktop Control, I can easily switch to the old app version.

Hello Joward,

Yes, you can install the 2.x application and still keep the 1.x application. All that you need to do is join a meeting and add the command /blue to the end of the meeting link in the browser like so:

https://bluejeans.com/123456789/blue

This will download the exe for you to install. Please let me know if you run into any issues or have any questions.

Are there any plans to bring RDC into the 2.x application, and if so when?

Yes, RDC is on the roadmap for the app 2.x. There is no confirmed ETA as of now but we will definitely update the thread once it draws near.

Related: it seems that bluejeans links install and launch old version of app even after I've installed new (on Mac). Is this the case/known, and any plans to update so to new app instantiation from meeting links?

When I click the link with new version installed I'm taken to this page: https://bluejeans.com/7408171958/

The "download app" option downloads the old version of the app. 

Curious what is known around this and plans for resolution if any, so I can direct our team. Thanks!

Typically that means that your company has not yet rolled out the newest version as the default. I'm not able to locate a BlueJeans account associated with the email used for your Community account, but I'd recommend reaching out to Support to see if it's possible to have this enabled.
