Browser plugin not updating

Had some difficulties joining my meeting today! The webpage keeps asking me to update my browser plugin, but it never seems to fully update! A few of my coworkers have experienced this as well.

Any ideas/quick fixes?

I know you have to have Adobe Flash installed.  We use the Firefox browser.  When we enter the meeting, a small box with two dots above it (looks like a car battery - ha!) appears immediately to the left of the url.  Click on that and be sure "Allow" plug ins.  Otherwise, you are going to stare at the spinning wheel in the middle of your screen as it tries to update the plugin.

There are quite a few scenarios that may prevent the Browser Plugin from auto-updating when jumping into an active meeting.  I've included a few resources and some helpful tips to get you updated and ready for your next meeting!

If you're meeting is live right now and you need to get in asap!
If you are unable update from joining an active meeting, try visiting our downloads page. You can always download and install the most recent versions of all of our software from this page.  For best results, we recommend to uninstall the current program beforehand.
We also have a tool you can download and run that will remove all traces of the Blue Jeans Browser Plugin from your system and will allow for a fresh install. This is very useful for users with much older plugins trying to update to our most recent version or have multiple versions of the plugin installed on the system.If your preparing for an upcoming meeting or just making sure everything is up to date.
  • Try joining the meeting from another browser to see if the update will complete.
  • If no alternative browsers are available, try clearing your browser's cache or perform a Browser Reset. There could be some temporary files that are causing some conflicts with the update process.
  • Double check to make sure your user account on the system has no network policies or antivirus settings that may prevent the auto-update process.

I have installed the Bowser plugin and updates on many different computers, and have only had one experience with issues.One single laptop will not work with BlueJeans if we use IE as our browser - but will function flawlessly with Firefox. This is the only hiccup I have seen since we started using bluejeans :-)

Do you have a clean up tool for Mac?
Hi Barry - not at the time, only for Windows. I would contact support for mac/Blue Jeans plugin removal. Thanks!

Do you have steps to manually remove on a Mac?
Barry - all you need to do is trash the folder in Library. Let me know if you have issues. Thanks!

Hi Barry,

Please go to Finder and then click on Go on the top menu.

Now hold down the "Ctrl" and "Option" key together and you will see the list unveil "Library". Please click on that and inside Library go to "Internet Plug-Ins"

Select what's in this directory and Move To Trash. Now when you join a new meeting, you will start the process of installing from scratch.

We have a couple of users with issues with the plugin, so I've just tried it on their systems and eventually it comes up with removal tool encountered an error and then stopped!
