We've just updated Blue Jeans Relay with some cool new features. In addition to bug fixes and performance improvements, here’s what’s new in version 1.8:

  • Mute/Unmute: Mute and unmute the conference room’s microphone from the Relay Touch application.

  • Private and Redacted Modes for Conference Rooms: By default, the Relay Touch app displays the subject line for each scheduled meeting, and supports touch-to-join. Now, administrators can specify that all meetings scheduled for a specific endpoint will be treated as either private or redacted. These settings can be accessed in the Endpoints section of the Administrator Console, under Advanced Options:

    • Private: In this mode, every scheduled meeting is listed as “Private Meeting” on the conference room’s Relay Touch tablet, and touch-to-join is disabled. Use Private mode when you only want to show free/busy status for a conference room.

    • Redacted: In this mode, every scheduled meeting lists the organizer’s name rather than the subject line, and touch-to-join is supported. Use Redacted mode to prevent Relay Touch from displaying potentially sensitive information about a scheduled meeting.

  • Installer Improvements: Both the Listener Service and Relay Touch app are easier than ever to install and configure.

  • Relay Mesh REST API: An integration mechanism to support customization of your Blue Jeans Relay deployment.

How to Upgrade
You need to upgrade both the Listener Service and the the Relay Touch app on your Android devices. Note that if you upgrade only the Relay Touch app, new features like Mute/Unmute won't work until you also upgrade the Listener Service.

Before ugprading the Listener Service to version 1.8, we recommend that you back up your config.properties file. These ZIPs contain both the Listener Service software and documentation:
